What You Really Need in Your Training Bag — and What Can Stay at Home
A short, organised equipment list helps you arrive prepared without overloading the bag or searching for items during the briefing.

A Good Bag Starts with the Activity Notice
There is no single equipment list that suits every training session. The notice you received from the Koach Hatzafon team, the shooting range's instructions and the type of activity are the authoritative sources. Once you have read them, you can organise a short, clear list.
Essential Items
Check that you have prepared:
- A Firearm Licence and identification in accordance with the activity requirements.
- Long trousers, a comfortable shirt and closed shoes.
- Enough water for the duration of the activity and the weather.
- Hearing and eye protection if you were asked to bring personal equipment.
- Any additional equipment expressly listed in the registration notice.
- A small notebook or phone for recording feedback after the training.

Organise by Order of Use
Keep items required at registration — documents and registration confirmation — in an accessible pocket. Protective equipment should be near the top of the bag. Store water where a leak will not endanger other equipment. This avoids opening the entire bag after the briefing has begun.
What Can Stay at Home?
- Items that were not requested and whose use is unfamiliar to you.
- Duplicates that add unnecessary weight.
- New equipment that has not yet been checked or fitted.
- Valuables that are not needed for the activity.
- Anything the shooting range or instructor has prohibited.
A heavy bag is not necessarily a prepared bag. The goal is to know where each item is and take it out only when the instructor asks.
Check the Evening Before
Place the bag in an organised location, review the activity notice and tick off each item as it goes in. Confirm the arrival time, location and contact person. In the morning, only water and current documents should remain to be added.
After the Training
Empty the bag, separate any equipment that requires cleaning, check whether anything is missing and note what proved unnecessary. After two or three sessions, you will have a short personal list that suits you precisely.
Quick Checklist
- Documents and registration confirmation.
- Suitable clothing and closed shoes.
- Water and protective equipment.
- Only the equipment required in the notice.
- An accessible pocket for registration items.
- A short check the evening before.

If in doubt, contact the team before arriving. The shooting range's and instructor's directions take precedence over any general list.
